How to Check Your Website SEO Score for Free (Step by Step)

By Umar Hayat · Updated 22 October 2026

A website SEO score is a number out of 100 that shows how easy your pages are for Google to find, read and understand. You can check it for free in about two minutes.

How to check it

Open SpeakMySite, tap Add, paste your website link and press Check my site. Wait about 30 seconds. You get scores for speed, SEO and accessibility, plus a plain explanation you can read or listen to. Tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights show the same kind of score.

What the number means

90 to 100 is good. 50 to 89 means some basics are missing. Below 50 means search engines may struggle to understand the page. The score is a guide, not a ranking promise, because Google also looks at content quality and links.

Five fixes that raise the score

1. Give every page a clear title (under 60 characters) and a short description. 2. Use one main heading (H1) and sub-headings (H2) in order. 3. Add a short alt text to every image. 4. Make sure the page works on a phone. 5. Add a sitemap.xml and submit it in Google Search Console.

How often to check

Check once a week after you change something, and once a month otherwise. Write down the score so you can see if your changes helped.
